Palworld Damage Comparison Calculator

Compare two Palworld builds using damage you actually observed in the game. Record three non-critical hits from each build under the same conditions; the calculator compares the averages, ranges, percentage difference, and optional damage per second. It does not pretend to reconstruct Palworld’s hidden combat formula.

Test method designed and checked by Badar Ashfaq. Calculators Arena is an independent fan site and is not affiliated with Pocketpair.

Compare two controlled damage tests

Enter three non-critical hits from each build. Test both builds against the same target with the same skill, difficulty, distance and temporary buffs.

Build A
Build B
Enter three hits for each build to compare their observed averages.

What the comparison measures

For each build, the tool adds the three recorded hits and divides by three. It also shows the lowest and highest hit in the sample. Build B’s percentage difference is calculated from the two averages:

Percentage difference = ((Build B average − Build A average) ÷ Build A average) × 100

If you enter the seconds between attacks or skill uses, observed damage per second is the average hit divided by that interval. That optional result is useful only when both intervals were measured consistently.

Run a controlled in-game test

  1. Choose one target and keep its level and state unchanged.
  2. Use the same active skill, distance, difficulty, and world settings for both builds.
  3. Remove temporary food, partner, or environmental buffs unless the buff is the variable being tested.
  4. Record non-critical hits. Do not mix ordinary hits and critical hits in the same sample.
  5. Change only the build element you want to compare, then collect the second sample.

Three hits make the calculator quick to use, but more observations are better when damage varies widely. Repeat the comparison or average several three-hit sets before making an expensive build decision.

Worked example

Suppose the current build produces hits of 118, 121, and 120. Its average is 119.67 and its observed range is 118–121. A test build produces 130, 134, and 132, giving an average of 132 and a range of 130–134.

The comparison is ((132 − 119.67) ÷ 119.67) × 100, so the test build’s observed average is about 10.3% higher. If both attacks were measured at two seconds per use, the observed rates would be about 59.83 and 66 damage per second.

How to read a close result

A small difference is not automatically meaningful. If one build averages 120 with a range of 105–135 and another averages 123 with a similar range, normal variation may be larger than the apparent advantage. Collect more hits and check whether the difference persists. A narrow, non-overlapping range is stronger practical evidence than one unusually high hit.

Limits and version scope

This worksheet measures the result of a controlled test; it does not identify which hidden modifier caused it. Critical chance, elemental interactions, target defense, passives, partner skills, attack timing, difficulty, multiplayer settings, and patches can all affect live damage. Results from different targets or settings should not be combined.

The page is maintained for the Palworld 1.0 era. Pocketpair’s official version 1.0 announcement documents broad combat and balance changes but does not publish a universal damage equation. That is why this calculator uses observed hits rather than an invented formula.
