How Leveling Works in Palworld
Both your player character and your Pals gain XP through catching Pals, defeating enemies, crafting, and completing tasks. Each level requires progressively more XP. Player levels unlock technologies, while Pal levels improve combat and work stats. Combine this tool with our Palworld Stats Calculator to see how much your Pal’s stats improve per level.

- Catch new Pals — First-time catches give bonus XP
- Defeat tower bosses — Massive XP and can be repeated
- Use Lucky Eggs — XP boost items maximise XP per hour
- Dungeon runs — High-density enemies and bonus chests
- Build and craft — Contributes to player XP passively
Palworld Level FAQ
What is the maximum player level?
The current maximum player level is 50 in Palworld version 0.1.x.
What is the maximum Pal level?
Pals can currently reach a maximum level of 55. Pal levels are independent of your player level.
Do Pals level up faster in party or base?
Pals in your active party gain combat XP. Base Pals do not gain XP from work — keep Pals in your party during dungeon runs to level them quickly.
Is there a way to reset a Pal’s level?
Currently there is no way to reset a Pal’s level. Use our Palworld Breeding Calculator to breed a new version instead.
