WoW Arena Points Formula Explained
The official Blizzard arena points formula published February 18, 2026 for Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary:
p = ((1651.94 − 475) / (1 + 2,500,000 × e^(−0.009 × r)) + 475) × 1.5
Where r = your individual rating in that bracket. After calculating base points (p), bracket multipliers are applied:
- 2v2 Arena: 76% of base points (×0.76 multiplier)
- 3v3 Arena: 88% of base points (×0.88 multiplier)
- 5v5 Arena: 100% of base points (×1.00 multiplier, full value)
Arena Points Requirements & Eligibility
Minimum Games Required
You must complete at least 10 rated games in a bracket during the week to be eligible for points in that bracket. Games played count from Tuesday reset to Tuesday reset (US servers) or Wednesday reset (EU servers).
How Points Are Awarded
- Points are awarded weekly at server reset (Tuesday US, Wednesday EU)
- You receive points from your single highest-yielding bracket only
- Points from multiple brackets do NOT stack
- Arena points use your individual rating in the eligible bracket
- You can participate without joining a fixed arena team

Which Arena Bracket Gives the Most Points?
5v5 arena gives the most points per rating because it has a 1.00 multiplier (full value). For the same rating:
- 5v5 pays 100% of base points
- 3v3 pays 88% of base points (12% less than 5v5)
- 2v2 pays 76% of base points (24% less than 5v5)
Example: At 1800 rating you earn approximately 2147 points in 5v5, 1890 in 3v3, and 1632 in 2v2 – a difference of about 515 points between 5v5 and 2v2.

How many arena points do I get per week in TBC?
It depends on your individual rating and bracket. At 1500 rating you earn approximately 845 points per week in 2v2, 978 in 3v3, or 1111 in 5v5. At 2000 rating you earn approximately 1834 points in 2v2, 2124 in 3v3, or 2413 in 5v5. Use the calculator above for your exact rating.
Does the TBC Anniversary Arena Calculator use the official formula?
Yes. This calculator uses the Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary arena points formula published by Blizzard on February 18, 2026, with bracket multipliers of 0.76 for 2v2, 0.88 for 3v3, and 1.00 for 5v5.
Do arena points stack across brackets?
No. You receive points only from whichever eligible bracket gives you the highest reward. For example, if you play 2v2 at 1600 rating for approximately 1102 points and 3v3 at 1500 rating for approximately 978 points, you receive about 1102 Arena Points for the week the two rewards are not added together.
What rating do I need for 2000 arena points per week?
Using Blizzard’s Burning Crusade Anniversary formula, you need approximately 1747 rating in 5v5 or 1863 rating in 3v3 to earn around 2000 Arena Points per week. In 2v2, reaching 2000 weekly Arena Points is not possible under the 0.76 bracket multiplier; the 2v2 reward approaches a maximum of about 1883 points even at very high ratings.
How long does it take to get full arena gear?
It depends on your rating, bracket, season, and which Arena gear pieces you plan to buy. For example, at 1500 rating you earn approximately 1111 Arena Points per week in 5v5, while at 1800 rating you earn approximately 2147 points per week. Does individual rating affect arena points?
Yes. On Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary realms, points are calculated using your individual rating in each eligible bracket. Fixed arena teams are no longer required. See the archived Blizzard development notes for the Anniversary rating change.
What percentage of my weekly cap did I earn?
Divide your current points by the target, then multiply by 100. For example, 1,500 points toward a 2,000-point target is 75% complete.
